New TOMS Shoes at South Coast Surf Shops – Classics, Wedges and Ballet Flats

TOMS- if you haven’t heard of this one-for-one shoe concept then you might as well be living under a rock! TOMS was founded by American traveler, Blake Mycoskie, in 2006 when he befriended children in an Argentinian village and found they did not have protection for their feet. He came up with a one-for-one concept where every pair of TOMS that is purchased one will be provided for a child in need. This motto has held true today, even with all the new categories of footwear being introduced! So get ready because ladies- these shoes are AMAZING!

When TOMS was first introduced, they created a traditional wrap-style shoe available in every solid color- black, navy, natural, red, burlap – you name it, they make it! This style goes with just about everything from skinny jeans to denim cut-offs and skirts, this shoe is perfect for every occasion. TOMS expanded their traditional colors to “seasonal” prints. This summer they offer neon pinks and blues as well as chambray and fun stripe prints.

If you are more of a “wedge” girl like me, you will go crazy for their not one, but two styles of wedges! Their first wedge was introduced with a slip-on style peep toe and rope or cork heel. This style comes in floral prints and colorful woven designs along with solids and sequins. Once broken in, they will be your go-to wedge all year long (I mean, come on ladies, no heel feels perfect the first time you wear it for 8 hours)! Their second wedge design just shipped out for this summer and I can say it IS fabulous!! The “Strappy Wedge” is a cross strap sandal with adjustable backing on a rope or cork heel. Wear this with jeans, shorts, dress- no matter what you will look super cute!

If you can’t manage the wedges and opt for a more all-day wearable look then try TOMS ballet flats! These comfy yet fabulous flats come in solids, burlap (my fav!), and ikat and leopard prints. These flats are sure the dress up any outfit and have everyone asking where you got them! TOMS are also available in men’s, youth, and tiny’s at any of our 5 locations! Be sure to tune in this fall for yet another new category of ladies footwear- we just can’t tell you what it is! It would ruin the surprise!

Many of you have heard of TOMS shoes and their One for One program where for each pair of shoes you purchase, they donate a pair to children who need shoes.

Why Shoes? (from their website):

Many children in developing countries grow up barefoot. Whether at play, doing chores or going to school, these children are at risk:

•A leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted diseases, which can penetrate the skin through bare feet. Wearing shoes can help prevent these diseases, and the long-term physical and cognitive harm they cause.

•Wearing shoes also prevents feet from getting cuts and sores. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected.

•Many times children can’t attend school barefoot because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don’t have shoes, they don’t go to school. If they don’t receive an education, they don’t have the opportunity to realize their potential.

Now TOMS is giving their customers a chance to follow their purchase around the world on a TOMS Giving Trip.

Experience Giving One for One first hand! Previously available just to TOMS employees, Giving Trips are not vacations, but journeys into communities of incredible people and incredible need. They are hands-on, face to face experiences that are as much about transforming yourself as transforming the lives of others.

With so many chances to win, you could be headed off on an adventure with your next purchase!

Only one entry per week is valid.
Sweepstakes open to US residents only. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER.

Would you like to travel on TOMS’ dime and see the benefits of their One for One program? Head on over to sign up. And while you’re there, check out their shoes. I have to admit
